Archiving and Preservation Policy
To ensure the permanent accessibility of published research, JRO participates in recognized digital preservation initiatives:
- LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe): Libraries can preserve journal content by registering in the LOCKSS program.
- CLOCKSS: Content is preserved in a secure, decentralized archive to guarantee continuity even in case of publisher closure.
- Portico: Long-term preservation and digital archiving for scholarly literature.
- Institutional Repositories: Authors may self-archive their published version in institutional and subject repositories.
Digital Object Identifier (DOI)
Every article published in JRO is assigned a unique DOI via CrossRef. This ensures permanent linking, easy citation, and interoperability across scholarly platforms.
Author Benefit: Indexed and archived articles are more visible, receive higher citation potential, and comply with funder requirements for open access and long-term availability.

Authors are encouraged to deposit a copy of their published article in:
- Institutional repositories (e.g., university libraries)
- National open science repositories
- International repositories (e.g., Europe PMC, PubMed Central, Zenodo)
